Overweight Americans

Essay: Why do we in this country have a health problem with "overweight Americans"? Commercial ads provide pills, machines, clubs, diets and surgery, however, we are still the fattest population of people throughout the world. Why this is the reality and what suggestions can you provide to make us a society of healthier individuals?
Our country has a health problem with "overweight Americans" because people love food! Advertisers and companies always try to find a way to get more money from public. They manufacture extra super candy bars, big bags of chips, tastier, bigger portions of meat and many other things. They make foods more sweet or salty. They super size drinks now in all fast food places. Under these conditions, it's been easy for American people to gain more weight with all the extra fat and calories. People develop a taste for more and more. They don't pay attention to their health because they are already addicted to the taste. The food companies are very lucky to get high profits from people. America is full of companies competing for money. American people are very careless about what will happen to their health. Here are several suggestions to help our society to become healthier individuals.
First of all, people can not stop a company from increasing fats in foods because there is no law against it. Laws only protect us from companies putting something inside food that would harm us like poison. People need to learn how to control themselves when they are eating. I would like to suggest that you should never shop for food when you are hungry. Don't pay attention to what is on the 2nd or 3rd shelves in the aisle because they are targeting teenagers. The commercials show photos of food that are not always the same when you buy them. The photos can be deceiving. You buy them thinking they will taste great but they are really loaded with fat and calories.
