There are some men who are born, live their lives, and die unnoticed by the world; Dr. Martin Luther King was not one of them. He was a man who not only changed his society, his community, and his culture, but changed the future as well. He was passionate about religion, he was an advocate, and mentor for Blacks, poverty, and where an inhuman injustice was taking place. He dreamed of whites and Blacks joining together in harmony, and a world where Blacks would one day be judged by their character instead of by their skin color. He also dreamed that one day segregation would end completely. He is, and was, a great mentor for all people, not just people of color. If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were alive today, would he view our society with pride? The answer is yes, but he would also be disheartened by some of the issues facing America today. As a whole, Dr. King would be pleased with our sociological and demographic advancement; however, it is reasonable to suggest that he would be up in arms about the avocation of segregation and racism returning to the schools and the way the poverty stricken people in society are treated.
             First of all, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would be ecstatic about the world's interracial relations. People of all colors have united in friendships around the world, thus making it more diversified. Our country, for the most part, is no longer divided by skin color, and people are usually judged by their character, rather than by their skin color, race, origin, or sex when it comes to friendships. Dr. King's dream that "'children' will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character," has happened all across the world, and I know he is pleased with this (I Have a Dream, 1963).
