Jurassic Park

             The movie Jurassic Park, written by Michael Creighton, was very entertaining, as was the novel. Guy Johns writes, "Sitting in that dark theatre, I was fully entertained for over two hours. It's got humor and suspense." However, there were some complaints. Mr. Johns also displayed distaste for a few bits of the movie without dinosaurs involved. He says, "Unfortunately, the dialogue was cheesy in several spots perhaps explaining why people didn't like the dino-free scenes." He later tells the reader that although it was not the best film of 1993, it was his favorite. Johns believed that "The Fugitive" was the best film. An anonymous author who goes by the alias "pjapproved," wrote, "Jurassic Park is one of those action films that hasn't aged a bit since its release." A monumental statement since so many action films have aged tremendously. An example of this would be "Jaws," in-fact another one of Spielberg's box-office hits. Perhaps a reason for this action flick remaining so influential is its originality. "Jurassic Park" is the first big motion picture of its class. Pjapproved also discusses the dinosaur scenes as epic saying, "The T-Rex attack in the rainy night is by far one of the most brilliant action scenes ever!"
             However, not everyone agrees on the value of the plot. Boba Fett from Grningen, The Netherlands, tells the reader, "The story isn't really important, it actually is kind of weak. The movie is all about the dinosaurs and everything around it is of minor importance, at least for me it is." He is a rarity, being one of a few to critisize Creighton's writing and only applause Spielberg's creative genius. But he does not stop there.
