Due to the many forms of oil-generated environmental pollution evident throughout the region, farming and fishing have become impossible or extremely difficult in oil-affected areas, and even drinking water has become scarce. Malnourishment and disease appear common. Oil companies do not care about farmers and fishers that may have been trying to do business in that area. Oil corporations do not care how much land they destroy or how much water they pollute, as long as that oil is exracted from the ground so that they can make profits off it. Corporations often dispose of their waste in the cheapest way, by dumping it. Coors Corp. is an just one of the corporations that took the easy way out. Coors was cited twice in 1990 for water pollution, once in 1986 and once in 1985. Coors has dumped 20,000,000 gallons of toxic liquid waste at the Lowry Landfill.
