PUNISHMENT FOR REVEENGING A CRIME

             Revenge can be classified as to inflict punishment in return for injury or insult, the act of paying back or retaliation for a crime. Revenge to many people is the ultimate closure; it feels much better if you are able to return the hard feelings given to you. Although revenge seems like a great idea, there are usually consequences that follow.
             Government punishment of a person for revenging a crime is reasonable because in each case crime is crime, whether revenged or purposely committed. When I was young my sister and I would get into terrible fights. I remember being so mad one day for something she did, that I popped the tires on her bike. It relived some anger for the time being, but shortly after I grew guilty and popped the tires on my own bike. I ended up having to pay for both of the flat tires; being young this took me quite awhile to pay off. This is a classic example of the consequences people face (suppose to face) when they act on anger and get revenge. Revenge is a sudden impulse that causes you to do something irrational and sometimes hurtful. In this case if you decide to do something hurtful that is against the law, you deserve to be punished by the law Revenge can put you on the same level as the person you're getting revenge on, which might not be a good situation which may be equal punishment for committing the same crime.
             It is human nature to want revenge once wronged against, but more often than not, it concludes poorly. In this story, Estrich gave an example of a child abuser who was murdered by the parents of the child for killing their child. Both killings as Estrich said is on purpose and are still wrong despite that they are revenging for the wrong that was done to them. In this case they should face the consequences of law.
