             The technology used in the production of the automobile has had a negative "domino chain effect" on society. The automobile has been one of the greatest inventions in the last 100 years. It has helped the United States grow in ways never imagined before. It has allowed people to move out of highly congested cities and into more peaceful neighborhoods. However, the negative effects of the automobile, which were overlooked in those days, are of serious concern in present times.
             The introduction of the automobile has had positive effects on the American culture. Since automobiles were first introduced in the early 1900's, Americans have grown considerably dependent upon them. At the domestic level, mothers have relied upon automobiles to run errands, transport their children to and from school and travel to extra curricular events. At the business level, entrepreneurs have relied upon automobiles to transport themselves to and from work and, when required, to travel to conduct other business transactions. Teenagers have also become dependent upon automobiles to participate in academic, extra curricular, work, and social events and activities. The automobile has had a major impact on economic aspects of the American culture. The manufacture and production of the automobile has provided a significant amount of stimulation to the nation's economy by creating increased demand for various commodities and resources. Based upon these assessments of the impacts that the automobile had on certain aspects of the American culture, a common conclusion would be that the effects have been entirely positive.
