It was the year of 1998 and it was very cold outside. There wasn't a lot to do because Jack Frost was out. The place to hang out was at my grandmother's house, although she was much older than me, I still enjoyed being in her presence because she was young at heart and full of life. Normally, I wouldn't have so much time to spend with grandma, but for reason's that I would later realize the time I spent would greatly increase. On this day in particular grandma's demeanor was different from any other behavior seen before or that I witnessed. As she sat sipping Pepsi and watching television there was this distant look on her face. She loved her grand children; however she made it clear that she was not a daycare provider. This particular day all of the grandchildren and adults were there talking and laughing reminiscing on the good old days. As the night grew longer the children were getting tired. Grandma suggested that we leave all the grandchildren at her house, something she rarely does. We were all shocked but we figured since it was Friday why not let the children spend time with grandma. After the shock settled in, I began to realize something wasn't quite the same about grandma.
             The weekend was quickly coming to an end; it was time to pick up the children. I arrived at grandma's house early Sunday morning; it's her day for church. On this day she would choose not to attend which surprised me, because she never misses church. The children were all having so much fun playing throughout the house as if they were out at the neighborhood playground. Entering grandma's room, she was in her normal sitting place with this peaceful look on her face like nothing could bother her.
