Native Americans

             When talking about Indians who lived in North America, we actually refer to people who are called Natives. For a long time, they have been known as Indians because of a wrong belief of a very famous Italian explorer Christopher Columbus who said, that the Americas were the Indies' lands. Today this belief is proven wrong, and the lands and the people found by Columbus were their way before he was even born. For thousands of years, these people today, called Native Americans, have lived on North America's lands. A theory is that all came from Asia and Alaska in a series of migrations. All the people that migrated to the continent formed small groups called tribes. Each one of them unique with their own language cultural beliefs and ways of life. Roughly the continent was split into 6 major regions. Due to the different geographical features that the continent has, all the tribes from all regions had to adopt different ways to survive, causing different living and each tribe to be unique.
             One of the major and most populated by Native Americans region was the Northeast and Central plains. With its geographical comfort ability, many Native Americans tribes such as the Menominee, Erie, Iroquois and many more lived there. The lands in that section of the continent were filled with wild animals, agriculture, and few big lakes good for fishing. The tribes that lived in the same region mostly shared the ways they lived the everyday life. The Iroquois was the most important tribe in the North America. They had similarities with other tribes but were never identical. One of the most important contributions that they made was that their sense of purpose, unity, and political organization kept them together for a enough time to meet the European people and share ideas with them.
