Should the government silence dissent when it is at war? That is the question I am to write upon. No, I don't think that the government should silence dissent at any time. I think it is most important not to silence dissent especially in the time our country is at war. I think wars should be freely spoken about and the public should be able to protest and do whatever they feel is right. War should always be questioned and most of the time it is not the interest of the majority, but the minority. The unfair part about that is it is in the minority's favor the majority's loss. The majority is fighting and putting their life on the line for something they don't believe is worth it, but they do so because they are told that it is their patriotic duty to their country.
It seems to me that if it is our patriotic duty to fight a war and the government is supposed to look after and do the best for our country as possible then should we even question the war. The government loves this country just as much as the people whole live in it. When the government has to make such a big decision on to go to war or not, it is probably best not to let all the protesting go on because maybe he'll feel like he made the wrong decision when he didn't. Or maybe he did the wrong thing and needs to know and see how the public feels. The government probably would not like to see the people protesting. See his own country not believing in such a big decision that he thinks is right and is only making the decision for the good of it's people.
The decision of war is made for the safety/ protection of the people. The government won't do it if they didn't think it was wrong. They are there to help us and help exercise our rights. Well that's not always true...how is our country exercising our right to liberty and freedom of speech if the government is dissent about war. If war is to be dissent a
