Dress codes: good or bad idea?

cause some children would abuse the rule. Some children may not be able to pay for school uniforms. This would result to the schools paying for uniforms – which could be expensive.
             Do clothes make the student? Many children think that they must have popular clothes to fit in. Some children aren't as fortunate as others. If the less fortunate child came to school in old, discolored clothes, they may have the title of poor or trashy to other students. If a more fortunate student came to school nice clothes that look brand new, they might have a title of rich, preppy, or jock. Clothes do indeed make the student – socially.
             Every year, one or more gang members kill students in school. If there were dress codes, schools could be safer. It would be harder for students to conceal weapons within their clothing. Some students clothing makes them look like they are affiliated with gangs. In some cases, some students that dress as if they are affiliated with gangs, are affiliated with gangs. Dress codes could fix this problem. Dress codes promote school safety by decreasing school violence and serve to enhance the learning environment of schools.
             There are four main benefits to having dress codes. Dress codes would make a more effective climate for learning. They would also benefit children by improving safety, because strangers could be identified more quickly. There would be a sense of school unity and pride with uniforms. If there were a problem with gang related activities, uniforms might decrease these activities.
