It was the night of December 24, Christmas Eve, of 1992. My mom, my
brother, and I were sitting at the kitchen table and my dad had just gotten
home. He came into the house telling me and my brother that he had just seen
something flying in the sky and that if we hurried to the front door that we
might be able to see what it was, he was implying that it was Santa Claus. As
we ran down the hall to the door, paused to open it and gazed into the deep,
cold, winter sky, we saw nothing. We were disappointed. As we turned around
and glanced at the Christmas tree, the bright lights, numerous ornaments and
many wrapped presents lay under it. But there was one present under there
that hadn't been there earlier, it was a little puppy. As I ran eagerly to hold my
new puppy, I scooped the little black pup in my arms. I was so happy that I
wouldn't put her down for a minute.
That night I thought and thought for a name for her, I think I named her
about 6 or 7 different names before I choose the one that I liked, and fit her, it
was Lady. I was so happy that I got a puppy because thats what I wanted really
bad for Christmas. I already loved my new dog that I wouldn't put her down for
As the years went on, the whole family had gotten close to the dog, and
cared for her as if she was a part of the family. She is a spoiled rotten dog
because we think that since dogs don't live for as long as humans then why not
spoil them. She begs for food at the table and sits pretty for treats. She loves
to go bye-bye and for walks. She chases squirrels and birds and other animals
out of "her" yard and loves to play fetch. When we go camping she comes along
too, she loves to jump in the water when we go down to the river to swim.
Lady is good around children, and other people, she don't bite. She
barks at everything, especially when people ride by on bic
