Have you ever dreamed about starting a home base business? Do you have the know how to start it? According to Link Resource's National Work-at Home Survey, 50 million home based businesses started in the year 2003. Most people want to have control over their lives, so they start work at home businesses.
             In Memphis, TN, three cousins are living the American dream of owning a business. They did not have to worry about start up cost or overhead. Cousin A is now the owner of Heaven Sent Travel Cousin B owns a mortgage company and Cousin C owns a tutoring service. They all work out of their homes and they all have taken control of their lives. The most important reason why they wanted to start their own business is that they wanted to be stay at home moms. This way they can work and still be at home with their babies.
             In talking to these successful entrepreneurs, I asked what did it take to start their businesses? These are the tips they gave.
             Step 1: Make a list of things you like to do, your work and volunteer experience, and items you own that can be used in a business. purge any business that is not interesting or does not satisfy a need people have.
             Step 2: Once you have decided what it is you like to do, research it. Spend a few weeks at the library or internet. Get as much details to help you get started in the right direction.
             Step 3: Determine what part of the house to use. Select an area away from family activity. The perfect space is a room that is distant from other rooms in the house or a garage. Any area will do as long as it can hold your business supplies and equipment.
             Step 4: Establish how much time you can spend on the business. If you are raising children or work outside of the home, it is good to start a home business on a part time basis. If your family or finances allow you to, then you can start a full time business.
