             If you were stranded on an island with a bunch of other kids, and no adults, and were not sure of how long you would be there, what ways do you think you would change? Do you think it would it be physically, mentally, or both? Do you think the way you saw things, and your beliefs would change? Sometimes morals come directly from our surrounding, and the environment in which we are raised, but if there is no civilization, we will lose those values.
             In the beginning, the group was very together, and well-organized. Ralph and Jack took charge and had meetings to discuss their plans for survival and took everyone's needs into consideration. I think that it was an excellent way for them to keep things organized by using the conch and I think that helped keep things together longer than they would have otherwise. I think it was a good idea for then to make different groups for hunting, and gathering, and even give the little ones things to do; even though the majority of the time they just ran off to play.
             As time went on, the groups fell apart and so did their plans. They no longer felt they needed civilization as a part of their survival, and threw it all away. Most of the kids went with Jack, and left Ralph to fend for himself. They all needed Piggy's glasses to make fire, and they needed fire for food and to make a signal to get rescued, so they had to steal them. I think that would kind of be a symbol of the civilization that group had. Just like we need a president to keep things in order for us and to keep us safe, I think that they kind of viewed the glasses in the same manner. For survival they needed fire and for fire then needed the glasses.
             I think the "war paint" idea that Jack came up with was a significant event because that changed each and every one of them. They started to use it to be disguised in the wilderness when they were hunting, but in the long-run, i
