onths in Tsarskoe Selo, where they were ordinary citizens for the first time in their lives. It was the first time Nicholas was free from all his duties and stress, so he took advantage of this time to bond with his family. Alexandra, on the other hand, was unhappy and remorseful.
             On 14th August 1917, the family was moved to Tobolsk in Siberia. They spent eight months here, and they found it not all that bad, as the citizens of Tobolsk had remained loyal to the Tsar and his family.
             In April 1918, Nicholas, Alexandra, and Marie left Tobolsk. Alexei was extremely ill and Olga, Tatiana, and Anastasia stayed in order to look after him.
             The Tsar, Tsarina, and Marie, were supposed to go to Tyumen, but instead they ended up in Ekaterinburg, and were followed by the rest of their family in May. In Ekaterinburg the conditions were by far the worst for the family. They had to stay in their rooms and were treated badly by their guards, most of which were revolutionaries, so despised the Romanovs deeply.
             Ekaterinburg was the last place of imprisonment for the Romanov family.
             On the night of July 16th 1918, the Romanovs were told to dress and were led from their rooms to a small room in the basement. They were told to wait for the cars, which would be taking them to a safer place because the White Army was approaching. When they entered the basement, Yurovsky told them to crowd together for a family picture. Lenin, the leader of the Bolsheviks, gave the order for the execution of the Imperial family. Yurovsky and eleven other men shot the Romanovs.
             Each of the eleven men were previously assigned who they had to kill. After everyone was dead, the murderers loaded the family, wrapped in bed sheets, onto a truck. The whole thing took just twenty minutes.
