Even when George is dealing pot, and breaking the law, the viewer never wants him to get caught. He is good looking, kind-hearted and very polite. Also, because of his rough childhood, we know that he has resorted to selling drugs because he feels like there is no other way that he could survive and not be poor. His father worked seven days a week, fourteen hours a day and it was still never enough. Everyone in California that he is friends with smokes weed and it seems to him that this is the best thing that he's got going for him.
