Why Study a foreign language

Studying a foreign language is very helpful in today's society because of the diversity that we have in our country. You could run into a person of another culture that speaks another language almost anywhere and it will help if you can communicate with them. You may be able to help them if they need directions or something of that sort or maybe even show them around town.
One reason to study a foreign language is if you go on vacation in another country, you will be able to speak with the people there and get help around. France has been the number one tourist destination in the world. The number of people that visit France annually is greater than it population. There are also other countries that have French as their primary language such as Canada and other countries in Africa.
The next reason that people should study a foreign language is that if you plan on furthering your education in college, it is a requirement to at least two foreign language credits to get accepted. So if your dreams are to go to college and make something of your life, you're not going to make it very far without two credits in a foreign language. If you have to be in the class then you might as well learn the language and make yourself diverse.
The last reason that I think people should study a foreign language is that if someone plans to go into a career in business, other languages will help when that person is asked to fly across seas for international trades or company partners. If you understand the language and culture then you will be prepared for the job and not have to take additional training courses.
These reasons are the reasons that I study a foreign language right now and if you have some of the same interests as me, then maybe you will want to study a foreign language too. Just think of the places you could go and understand with another language such as French.
