Web-enhanced learning

             Web-enhanced learning provides a student with many possibilities when it comes to learning. With this tool, a student has the freedom to learn while experiencing a new approach to teaching. A classroom up to date with the 21st century provides its students with programs that better fit the needs of the students of today. Students today are mesmerized with computers, TV, and different types of video games, so why not place them in a learning environment? Statistics show that classrooms with web-enhanced learning provide their students with a better place to learn. More students are open to the idea of games and electronics in the class instead of the often used traditional style. Students who are forced to "learn the old way" are often bored with the basic lectures and book readings. Nowadays, teachers have come up with various ways to use the web to create a fun and exciting way to teach even the dullest subject.
             Web-enhanced learning is often used for WebQuests. A WebQuest is a learning tool on the internet that is used for students to gain knowledge on a specific subject based on their age and grade. When asked to research a WebQuest, I found one that targets children in kindergarten through the third grade. This WebQuest is designed to enhance a child's math skills while providing its audience with the chance for some fun. The webQuest, Making the Connection, was designed by Carala Byars. Her lesson reinforces
             math skills such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and other subject areas. Byars' objective through the lesson is to teach her students as a small group and help them to better understand each highlighted area. Her WebQuest clearly relates to Bloom's Taxonomy by covering each step all the way from Knowledge to Evaluation.
