A troubled youth

             Picture this, a nice quiet street lined with similar built houses, and a SUV or minivan parked in every driveway. All of the homes are well maintained and the occasional child on a bike rides by or a couple passes you walking their dog. Everyone you meet on the street is friendly and there isn't a cloud in the sky. Now this seems like a nice place to live. Welcome to my neighborhood. Everything seems wonderful at first, but what you don't see is a whole world only seen to the youth and a few select others who help fund it all.
             According to the Census Bureau, middle-class suburbs are the largest growing communities in America. With the lure of a safe and clean community within driving distance to work, it's no surprise more and more people are flocking to these "safe neighborhoods." With the relaxed way of life the quaint suburb provides, our youth is running rampant with less and less adult supervision and control. Parents have a false sense of security, thinking that their neighborhood is a controlled environment for their children. What these parents don't know is that their children are smarter than they think, and can easily hide what they are doing.
             Today's youth are involved in all kinds of illegal and dangerous activities. With no parental control, these acts can go unchecked and repeat frequently. These crimes range from drug use and sale, to grand theft auto and felony assault. The common pattern of parents commuting to work in the morning and returning late in the evening means that these kids have all the time in the world to do whatever they want.
             Take ____ High School in Florida for example. This school is in a middle class suburb in central Florida. Last year alone, on three different occasions, ambulances had been dispatched for drug related problems. Within the same year, two students were arrested for possession of marijuana, LSD, cocaine, five ecstasy pills, ...
