Ethics influence our lives on a daily basis. We are affected by the choices we make based on our own ethical standards. Technology plays an interesting role when it comes to ethics. Technology, which takes the place of our human coworkers, is a stressful idea, and can cause us to test our ethical standards. With oncoming technology " today's organizations are becoming ever-more sophisticated in applying information technologies. Eventually, developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), the study of how computers can be programmed to think like the human brain, will allow computers to displace many decision makers." (Schermerhorn, Hunt, Osborn, 2003) With evolving technology along comes an evolving source of stress. Some may learn a new computer program with ease while another may become overstressed when learning this new application.
             AI or artificial intelligence is becoming a bigger threat daily. "Noble Laureate and decision scientist Herbert Simon is convinced that computers will some day be more intelligent than humans. "(Schermerhorn, Hunt, Osborn, 2003) This poses an interesting ethical dilemma, does Suzy the receptionist lose her job simply because it can be automated? In years past we faced this same ethical dilemma in the production fields. A paper mill in East Millinocket faced this terrible dilemma recently. "Thirteen people used to feed the wood into a grinding machine," technology replaced their original crew. We must ask ourselves: Can technology go to far? Can we replace these people's jobs?
