Crazy man

             As the day turned to night, there sat an old man in his rocking chair on his front porch. He was a peculiar man that all the kids in the neighborhood were terrified of, although none of us had ever spoken to him. We all called him "Crazy Man." Every night he would sit in his rocking chair and watch the kids go by. He lived in a nice neighborhood, but his house was very rundown and did not quite fit in.
             His house needed to be painted again because the white paint was peeling off, due to the extreme weather conditions it had been through. He had two overgrown oak trees standing tall in the lawn. There was a cracked cement walkway that was barely visible because of the grass had not been mowed in months. The house was so bad that if you were not from around there, you would think no one even lived there.
             One day my friends and I were walking by and we were looking at him as he gave us the same strange look that he always did. My friends were yelling awful things at him, but he just sat there and stared. My mother would tell my friends and me to stop bothering him, because he had not done anything to us. She would say that he is just a misunderstood man.
             There was an alley between his house and mine, and one day as I was walking down the alley I overheard him on the phone. I do not usually ease drop, but I was intrigued by what he was saying. I could tell it was bad news by the tone in his voice. He was telling the person that he did not have the money to clean up his house, and if he did not then he was going to be kicked out. Although I never spoken to him I felt like maybe I should do something to help. So I went to see my friends to tell them the situation, and they all agreed that we should try and help him.
