             Music has also increased with violent lyrics through time, with genres such as Rap and Hip-hop becomes ever more popular. This is shown by how rappers like 50 cent and DMX have rocketed to fame while singers like Britney Spears or no where to be seen. You can tell that violent lyrics is on the increase by just listening to an old song like Barry Manilow's "Mandy" and compare it to Eminem's "Solider", or "Superman". Below is a verse from Eminem's "Solider" (See Appendix for source).

             If you had a young child would you be happy to let them listen to the last to songs? While rapping about violence is one thing doing an act of violence and glamorising it is another. Just look at "The So Solid Crew" So who is worst "The So Solid Crew" or Eminem and can they be blamed for the violence in today society?
