The Saint I will be researching is St. Jane de Chantal. I randomly chose to
do her in my religion class. Jane de Chantal was born in 1572. She was the
second child of Benigne Fremyot, president of the local parliament. Her
mother Marguerite de Beribsey died when she was only one. Jane had one
brother, Andre and one sister, Marguerite. Jane was raised as a strict
Catholic. Jane had a happy laugh, bright smile and a clever mind. Her father
arranged the two sister's marriage. Jane married a man named Christopher
de Ratbutin. The Ratbutins were a family known for their arms and skill in
battle. After the marriage contract was signed on December 18, 1592 Jane
Jane thought of marriage as a lifetime commitment and wanted her own
to be well lived. Jane was a loving wife because of her Christian background
and her many great qualities. She and her husband loved each other very
much, they were soul mates Jane managed the accounts and kept the books,
and by doing so she cut household expenses. Later Christopher died in a
hunting accident. It took a long time for Jane to forgive the person who
killed her husband. She then took a vow of Chastity and asked God to send
her a guide. She later agreed to be baptismal sponsor of M. d 'Aniezy's

suffering and have to go through the death of her two daughters Charlotte
and Aimee. Jane arranged the marriages of both her daughters. Later her son
Celse Begnine died in battle at age 31. His daughter became Madame de
Saint Frances de Sales calls her the 'valiant woman." She founded the
great Order of the Visitation. The order of the Visitation was to admit
