The documentary on Truth and reconciliation Amnesty process, after the apartheid in South Africa show a really grim and gradual process of healing. It also shows the very conspiracies and realities of the apartheid and anti-apartheid movement. It sheds light, in understanding the mindset of the people for and against apartheid, and how they reasoned for their actions for greater good. How Eric Taylor, the white cop gave his reasoning for assassinating anti-apartheid activist Mathew Goniwe and Fort Calata. He said, he felt the responsibility to protect his community and Christianity and also from communism. 'Mississippi Burning ', a racial film, further instigated his believes, 'to set an example'. He was blinded and he realized this after reading the autobiography of Nelson Mandela. Now through TRC, he wants to meet the families of the victim and ask for forgiveness...... which by itself is very painful both the victims and him, but in the end one way or other it does lighten ones heart from the burden he/she carries for a long time for his/her Misgivings. I already knew apartheid was bad, but this film showed the after effect of healing, justice and new form off nation building where everyone is considered. This was a very interesting and personal healing view. It also shows how hatred evolves, when unknowingly white people who start benefiting from apartheid, even though they believe in equality and are against apartheid become victims of this movement and same for the other victims. Now because of violence loose their loved ones and now ever since they are filled with remorse and hatred. This is a very scary but a sad reality, applicable even today. An example.....
