Should the United States have the legal right to assassinate foreign leaders? I believe that in order to answer a question such as this one, we need to put ourselves in foreign shoes. When I read this question, my first answer is "yes, we should have that right if a foreign leader is a threat to innocent Americans". However, in several instances we have (or one of our allies has) killed innocent foreign people. This happened in WWII when a British artillery unit was trying to blow up a bridge, but blew up a German school killing several innocent children.
             If we had the right to assassinate foreign leaders because we believe they are a threat to our country, then they would think they have the right to kill our President. A lot of countries do not believe that we have good policies in this country and would most likely feel like if we killed one of their leaders than they could kill ours. That, I do not believe should ever have to happen.
             Some people believe that if the Americans had assassinated Hitler before he killed millions of innocent Jews, than so many lives would have been spared. Maybe that is true, on the contrary, who is to say what Hitler's followers would have done. Would they have found someone to replace Hitler? Or would they have just gone back to the way things were before Hitler was a dictator? It is highly unlikely that they would have just forgotten their former beliefs and stopped discriminating against the Jews.
             It is almost pointless to kill the leader of a country because he or she could easily be replaced. Killing a leader that the people respect could also create a martyr, meaning those followers would try to avenge their leader's death. The Roman plebeians started a Civil War after Julius Caesar was assassinated. I think that there are just too many possibilities of things that people can do, it's just too risk
