             Work to earn money if they need it or want it.
             Participate fully in public life and have their voices heard by those in power.
             Provisions from the husband for all her needs and more.
             Negotiate marriage terms of her choice.
             Obtain a divorce from her husband, even on the grounds that she simply can't stand him. Keep all her personal money.

             At a quick glance these rights appear to be what an American would deem "constitutional," but when they are put under a considerable amount of scrutiny, it is clear that the loop holes in these laws are the breeding ground for female oppression. Women are entitled to an education by law but what good is an education if you aren't allowed to do anything with it? As stated earlier, the men have control over their wives' careers and employment. In America, if a woman desires to embark in a lucrative career and has the schooling to do so, she will make an independent choice and become a business woman, whereas an Islamic woman would first need the consent of her husband
