For the past year and a half I have been fooling around with my education. I haven't been taking it seriously and haven't been showing any sign of future improvement. Since the court session, I have gone and seen my counselor to talk with them about ways that I can improve my grades and get caught up with my graduating class. Together, my counselor and I have come up with a plan to get me at the point of my education that I want to and should be at.
First and foremost, I need to get all of my grades up. In order to do that, I need to go to all of my classes' everyday, do all of my homework, and turn all things in on time. In my classes that I do go to, I usually do all my homework and turn it in on time, so I really don't have a problem in those particular classes. The problem classes are the ones that I don't ever show up for. The times that I do show up to those certain classes, I fail to do any of the required assignments therefore giving me a 0 for all of those assignments.
Secondly, I need to actually show up to all of my classes. In most classes teacher give the students daily participation points which are usually based on attendance and class participation. By me not ever going to class subtracts those points from my overall grade which hurts my grade even more in the long run. I also need to show up to class to get the knowledge of the stuff being taught in that particular subject. By knowing the material I will be able to do my homework ore easier, faster and more accurate. Another reason to show up to class is because you are only allowed a certain amount of unexcused absences and then you cannot get credit for that class. So by me not showing up to class and having unexcused absences, I am putting myself more behind in school then I already am.
I also need to catch up with my credits in school where I am behind. I am probably about 2½ years behind in credit which I need to catch up to grad...
