             As the flash of lighting he swoops down the streets of Sydney he smashes, street lights ands sabotages industrial and housing statements. This is just one game that Clive James played when he was young, as he explains this and more in his autobiography 'Unreliable Memoirs'. This is a true Australian larrikin book from the moment it starts to the very last page.
             Set manly in Sydney and around Sydney in Australia at about the 1940's, the book 'Unreliable Memoirs' is a humorous book for all ages. Throughout the book Clive James describes how much of a descriptive child he was to his teachers and to his mother. For after school he would find one way or another to mess up or destroy his mother's house before she returned home from work.
             The language that he has used is informal writing for e.g. "write example here"
             Even though Clive James hasn't used any pictures you can pretty much picture the scenes in your head for he describes it enough.
             Because Clive James excelled in English he was able to continue his education due to a grant from the orphan. This was for children who lost their parents/parent in war. Clive went on to study an arts degree at the Sydney University. This did not last to long for he ended up joining the army. He then flew to England after completing his basic training to excel in his comedian career. This is why today Clive can write at a high level and still make it humorous to read. Clive James also refers to his Aussie background frequently throughout, 'Unreliable Memoirs'. For he tells stores of the outback dunny where the red back spider would prowl the lead until someone sat down.
             In the autobiography you can tell by the way he wrote the book that he marginalizes most people that he talks about, like his mother, his uncle and his father death. But he doesn't really marginalize his best friends Gary and Milo, an example of this
