             Recalling the memories can bring varying feelings and and in Yusef Komunyakaa s
             poem Facing It? memories hunting him down over and over again. this is what I think the his piece means. He served in Vietnam war. I can relate to him. I served in Bosnian war. I felt emotional. I always feel emotional when it comes to the war.
             I was affected by the speaker 's voice to the point that I almost started to cry. When he said ,My black face fades,/ hiding inside the black granite./ I said i wouldn't,/dammit: No tears.I'm stone .I'm flesh? ( 1164.1-5 ). Reveals the silent feeling of horror solidly biult into the individual. It reminds me of myself and brings the whole set of tragedy to my mind again. The tragedy of war and tragedy of myself. There is something ironic that sometimes we feel like we do not deserve to be alive after all happened to us. like the feeling of guilt. I detected that where he saidI go down the 58,022 names,/ half expecting o find/ my own letters like smoke? ( 1165.10-20 ). Deep in my psyche I know that part ow me is dead, I'm just wondering how come I do not see my name there. How come. I imagine my own images of hell , where i saw my friends die , where the snipers would use their red sniper dots to play with the little kids, like they are animals ,before they would kill them. There is no rhyme structure here and i think that it doesn't take anything away from the poem. It affects my response greatly because it almost leads me from from one to another flashback of my own experience , like there is some kind of a secret brotherhood between the author and me , regardless of when and where the war took the place . Although the war is the reason for him being inside the memorial he wanted to get in touch with his soul that was lost with of those who are not with him anymore .?
