Throughout our life, there are many things that we see, think, taste, smell, and try to explain. Perception is something that our mind assembles all the time. It is the experience of a meaningful pattern or image that the brain assembles from thousands of individual, meaningless sensations. Our perception changes, becomes biased, colored, or distorted by a person's unique set of experiences. These changes are also due to change in environment, surroundings, and thoughts. As we walk about, day by day, we see with our eyes and minds. We all have different tools to interpret perception. Sensory receptors allow us to identify our environment. Perceptual constancy is the process of getting used to, or adapting to the environment and changes occurring all the time around you. Our brain processes logical explanations for everything in order to see the real thing. Every day we gather information to survive using our senses: smell, taste, and sight, touch...etc. Our body and mind uses receptors to detect physical energy. After that, electrochemical signals are sent to the cortex and are translated into the visual images that we see. As humans our minds and bodies are always looking for logic through perception.
This video explained perception and the processes behind perception very well. The details put into the explanation allowed me to grasp the material being presented much better. It also used visual images to help teach and make sense of the subject being taught. The images and visual tools used to teach were also very good tools that allowed me to interact and relate to the material. Another thing that the video accomplished very well was providing secure and precise facts. Unfortunately, the video still had a few flaws that can be fixed. The visual package could use a little more of a modern approach. The time frame not only looks sketchy, but also makes the video less appealing and less interestin
