For years now, there had been studies on how television could affect children. Some say there's too much violence and that it makes the child aggressive; others are saying that it doesn't have any impact at all. Which one is right? In the text Honey, I warped the kids by Carl Cannon, Cannon expresses his feelings toward the impact that television has over children. Compared to that, Daniel Lambert, in his text Les enfants et la violence â la télévision, also says that violence is, in majority, caused by television. In the following, we will compare the two texts and with that, we will prove that television is bad for the kids.
             First of all, like Carl Cannon said in his text, "There is more published research on this topic than on almost any other social issue of our time". This means that whether people believe it or not, this fact is based on something, it's not just a statement that researchers dropped loose in the world! For what was written, television can make children aggressive. It's not always on the impact of the moment, but it can appear 10 or even 20 years later, and when therapists go back to the childhood, television is the main reason why the man or the woman went wild. Also, a study was made with four groups of young men. The results speak for themselves: the group that had watched the "slasher" films had less empathy for a woman victim of rape than the other groups. There are many other examples in which we can see that television has a bad influence on the children, but we can get the picture just by those two.
