There are some people that deeply understand the child's pain, and they are the ones that are willing to help. They should be encouraged to take a stand and fight for the equal rights of this child.Martin Luther King succeeded in his fight for justice because he had all his people behind him; all the Negro's supported him and helped to make the march possible (King 498). King fought for the equal rights of all the Negro's, where as we are merely fighting for a poor soul, who has done no harm. However, in the fight for the equal rights of the child, it won't be easy to gather people who believe justice must be served. Many won't see it as their responsibility as being citizens of Omelas, but they should realize it actually is. The facts are clear that this child is suffering and ensuring the happiness of the people living in Omelas. They understand that their happiness will be taken away if the child is rescued. Many will choose not to participate because they simply don't care for the well being of the child. It's always about ones own self-interest, which keeps people from taking action.
             A sole person is afraid to take a stand because they don't want to be discriminated against by others in the society. There has to be someone that isn't scared to make changes for the better. However, it is moral only to include people in this act if and only if, they have their heart and soul in the matter.In order to act, we need to fight against the society and make our voices heard. When we begin to voice our opinion to help this child, this is taking action in itself.We need to take a stand by discussing this matter to the higher authorities.
