As I read the debate on sex/gender, it's very interesting to hear the thoughts of Afrikan woman. Activist like Anita Hill, Anna Julia Cooper, and many others spoke on explicity, the common ideology (Ideology of Race First and Sex Second.), and how the similarity between the politics of sex and race are alike in many ways.
             October 11, 1991, Anita Faye Hill showed up at the United State Senate judiciary Committee. Mrs. Hill accused a fellow co-worker (Afrikan man) of sexually harassing her. Their focus seems to be more on how woman were treated in slavery yes, history has a lot to do with why certain thing occur in our lives as Afrikans in America but in this case it was a Afrikan man who was accused, what do we do about this situation to help instead of leaning on stories of slavery because we are a divided people already and the person accused is of our own kind knowing that we personally fight a struggle everyday as woman/men something is seriously wrong with the way we handle our own. This case was ignored as a lot of them are.
             In 1892 Anna Julia Cooper an educator/activist she mentions, "Expected to choose between her own race and her own needs as a woman." I believe that while being able to help the will being of our people and really know what were fighting for in the rise of our people, in the process you will be able to meet the needs of your own individuality in finding the true purpose of your being. "What would a vision of Afrikan community transformation look like if gender were more central to our analytic framework?" I don't think it would make a difference, everyone wants to be recognized and feel that there important but, we as human kind have our own natural rules that we refuse to abide by.
