Cloning

             Every day in the news papers we hear about another person being cloned. Cloning is getting more and more popular throughout our community. Cloning has always brought out community to a downfall. This means that cloning can change people's lives for ever. There are many health risks, emotional risks, and risks of abuse of the technology. If we do not stop this cloning then we as a human race may face consequences in the future.
             Many health risks are involved from mutation of genes when cloning. The technique is extremely risky. For example, one of the health risks in cloning is that the genetic material used from the adults will continue to age so that genes in a newborn baby could be 30 years old or more on the day of birth. Many have attempted at cloning animals but they have come out to be disfigured monsters. For example, Dolly the sheep died prematurely of lung disease in February 2003, and also suffered from arthritis at an early age. This was probability linked to the cloning process. There are too many health risks involved with cloning for cloning to exist.
             There are also a lot of emotional risks that are involved with cloning. For instance, a child growing up knowing her mother is also genetically her sister, her grandmother is her mother, and her father is her brother-in-law. Every time she looks at her mother she is looking at herself grown up. Imagine her father's reaction when he sees the 18 year old he fell in love with 35 years ago. All these things could heart our family structure.
             The last risk from cloning is the risk of the abuse of the technology. In every generation there are powerful leaders who abuse technology. If cloning got into the hands of a leader who was going to abuse the technology it could have lots of consequences to the rest of the world.
