Colonialism and Economic Development in Iraq
             Right now as we speak there are many things going on over in Iraq that will have a major effect on our lives in the future. When we invaded Iraq and conquered them, we have accepted responsibility for the people of the country. When taking over we destroyed their buildings, water supplies, and any other form of technology they had. We have begun to help rebuild by using foreign aid. Foreign aid has many positives as well as negatives when it is spoken of. Depending on your views as a person, be that political views or religious views, you will take a different view to what is going on.
             Many people feel that the United States should stay out of everything and not worry about the problems of other countries. They feel that there is a lot wrong with our own country and those people have problems with us sending aid to the other countries when there are many people here in the United States who could benefit from this aid.
             First off let me start by telling you what the aid the United States sends to Iraq. They are sending over food, shelter, doctors, and people to help rebuild their destroyed countries. The United States is spending billions of dollars to help ensure that the people of Iraq are taken care of. Even as we were dropping bombs there were planes flying over dropping supplies to help the people. This plays a major role in colonialism and economic development because it shows that we are backing them and they are going to be respected by other countries.
             Back to the point that many people do not like the fact that we are doing this. They point to the revolutionary war as an example. England colonized us, and we were part of them. The people here felt that the government was too far away to do them any good and we soon rose against our rulers and fought for freedom.
