             Textile industrie, first felt the effects of the industrial revolution. In 1730 major advances let to mechanical spinning and weaving devices driven by water power and operated by semi-skilled labour which let to decrease ijn prices. The textile revolution occurred in cities like Lancanshire and Yorkshire ( FIG. 9.2).
             New mechanized factories were build wherever water falls were. By 1830 Britain produced 70% of world cottage textiles.
             1760, James Watt and other perfected the first steam steam powered cotton textile mill went into operation. The steam engine required fuel but Britain had almost totally deforested land. These circumstances let to even better fuel- coal. The mining of coal represented the second major industry to be affected by the industrial revolution.
             The problem was the transportation of coal. So the industries were attracted to drawn to coal fields.
