             The Scarlet Letter was a lot of fun to write. I knew if I gave it all my heart, it would definitely be a great novel, and that's exactly what I did. Considering that I was born and raised in Salem, writing a book about my homeland would be exciting and easy to express my feelings and thoughts about the town. After reading the book several times, I seem to like the book more and more every time I read it. The romance, drama, sin, suspense, and all other exciting aspects to writing are included. I chose the name and main character Hester Prynn because that sounds like a beautiful for a beautiful person. The main character is strange because she seems so innocent, yet she has committed adultery. Due to her sin, Hester is required to wear the letter "A" which is actually the most beautiful embroidery. The golden tread and amazing artistry is so beautiful, yet it is on someone whom has committed a great sin. I use a lot of irony because it creates a sense of excitement.
             Pearl, her daughter, is also a sign of beauty, hence the name Pearl. Dimmesdale and Chillingworth characters are meant to be like dogs. Chillingworth is actually worse because he is a demon. Chillingworth is a weak man, and Chillingworth, the demon, tries to take over his body, and eventually succeeds. I wanted Dimmesdale to be Pearl's father because he is a minister. He is a father like figure that is weak, and trying to recover. Many men these days are also doing the same. The end was hard to decide upon. Eventually I figured that the story must end with a death. So many things have occurred, something needs to die. I chose Arthur Dimmesdale because he was the weakest link. Hester and Pearl are two of the strongest women, there was no way they could die. Roger Chillngworth was demon possessed, there hard to kill. The good, minister had to die for his sins. Of course, after his death, Pearl and Heste
