Most cities are negligent to what needs to be done to fix the police departments in their communities, which is why there is little initiative to make change. People have just learned to tolerate police brutality to a certain extent.#
             One contributing factor has become extremely evident since the 1960's, that factor is race. Police have subjected minorities to apparently discriminatory treatment and have physically abused minorities while using racial slurs. The most notable racial profiling occurs with young African-Americans and Hispanics in highly urbanized areas. There have been reports of allegations of racial profiling in which drivers are pulled over and arrested for driving in certain areas or for driving certain types of cars. Minorities have been arrested for the littlest offenses and have been subjected to unjust treatment for those offenses.
