Therefore, as humans we obviously aren't very good predictors of the future of our relationships. We have no way of knowing if our relationships can last forever. There is no sure-fire-test or challenge that engaged couples could take beforehand to see if their marriage will last. And judging from current trends it more than likely won't last.
So why risk it? Perhaps they don't understand prior to getting married the pain that divorce causes. They can't foresee that their actions will cause more pain than the pain caused just upon themselves. If you are getting divorced you've got uncountable people that it affects. It's not like driving your car into a ditch and injuring yourself. You hurt your family, your friends, your spouse and, if you're unlucky enough, the people that should mean the most to you, your children. Or perhaps people risk divorce by getting married because they can't comprehend what marriage is. They are too young to understand that it takes more than just feeling good about someone to spend the rest of your life with them. They think that love is all it takes to make a marriage work and if you are in love then you should get married
