             How Mario and Luigi Helped Start a Violence Revolution
             After a long day of car jacking, killing hookers, and beating police down with a baseball bat, I just like to come home and relax, so I turn on my video game console. The sweet glowing beauty of animated violence rendered in beautiful real time 3D, my thumbs tingle at the prospect of participation in some good old fashioned video game violence. In Grace Shin's world this is not far from the life of many adolescent men, all of us training to be ruthless killers at home upon our Gamecubes and X-boxes'. I decided to test this hypothesis by setting up three scenarios that you commonly see in video games and record my results here, let's take a look.
             After playing Super Mario Brothers I set up some upside down bowls to represent the enemy, I first ingested a "magic mushroom" to grow and then proceeded to stomp away; Grace may be right about video games being a poor influence. After ingesting the mushroom I began to hallucinate and could no longer feel my toes as they had been replaced with odd tentacles.
             Since many of the more popular games today involve shooting someone or something I decided to go and shoot a gun, using only the knowledge that I have gained from videogames and boy was I surprised. With only minor adjustments from my thumbs I was able to shoot right on target every time, just as in video games. Not only was it fun, I did not have any remorse, I think all those people in the subway station were dead when I got there, anyway.
             Do not believe that my lust for blood ended there, per Grace's instruction I proceeded to play doom for hours on end, just as Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold are reported as doing in their spare time. You may remember them from the Columbine tragedy a few years ago, they were the shooters.
