Location, Location, Location

up? That was my theory. Well it worked in my favor. I got them down seventy nine hundred dollars from their asking price. I thought I had won the lottery. Little did I know that I was in for when purchasing this house.
             I had paid for my inspections and they passed with some minor fixes to be done by the seller before I would buy the house. After everything we agreed on to be fixed I purchased the house. We did a final walkthrough and I went to sign the papers, and then I signed more papers.
             I got the keys and off to my new home I went. The first thing I wanted to do was wash my new dishes in the dishwasher. I didn't officially move in till after about two weeks of work in the bedroom and living room. I thought it would be easier to remove wallpaper and paint without any furniture in the way. Believe me, this was no easy task. They had some fancy wallpaper on the walls that was tough to get off, but with a little bit of patience and elbow grease we got it done.
             The one thing I really recommend for first time buyers is that if the disclosure statement says anything about water accumulating in the basement, it is best to get it checked out. Otherwise you could be getting into a big problem with a leaky basement. And if that is the case, you are stuck with space that cannot be used, because you don't want to put anything down there of value to get ruined.
             Owning a house has become more important then simply having a place to live, or making a sound real estate investment in our society. Buying a house is the sign of entering to adulthood. It shows responsibility and commitment of settling down. It explains to your family and friends that you have left your adolescence attitude behind. It is a sign of growing up.
