             Teens are infamous for their spontaneous actions. Trying drugs, driving to fast, going to wild parties and starting fights are just some of the things teens are involved with that are so poorly looked upon. Sex is also a very big part of what teenagers are experimenting with, and like other dangerous activities, can lead to severe consequences such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), or even pregnancy. Drugs, peer pressure, insecurity and simply being uninformed are some of the causes for teen sexuality. Many people recognize that this is a problem, but do not know how to put a stop to it. Looking at the causes for this behavior, and educating teens accordingly, safe sex and even abstinence among teenagers can be accomplished.
             Friends have an enormous influence on teens. Whether it is what style of clothes they wear, what type of music they listen to, or even how they talk, a teenager's way of thinking usually revolves around their social life. This can lead the teen to face some tough decisions. One can be pressured into anything from skipping school or shoplifting, this includes sex. For boys, sex is encouraged. They think it makes them more masculine and somehow puts them above virgins. With that, virgin boys are looking for sex because of the position it can put them in socially. Girls, on the other hand, have to be much more careful. They may be pressured to have sex, but it must remain a secret. In many cases, girls risk a bad reputation if word spreads that she has had sex. Such opposite pressures make sex a confusing and sensitive subject. Many teens are scared to ask about sex, and other things like it, in fear of being made fun of. For both sexes, a fragile reputation seems at risk.
