The University of Phoenix represents an institution for the adult learner. I first decided to attend UOP because it allows me to have both a personal and a professional life while furthering my education. As a UOP student, I intend to use the resources offered to obtain the necessary knowledge to succeed in my Accounting degree. Ever since my first accounting class as a sophomore in high school, I knew that this was the field I would make my career. I have several goals as a student which include first finishing my degree, getting a better job, earn more money, enhance my skills and set an example for my children.

I attended college right out of high school and had every intention on graduating with a Bachelor's in Accounting and continuing on to become a C.P.A. I worked full time for two years and became so comfortable in my position that I decided that there was no rush in going back to school. At 19 years old the money seemed so good to me, so I thought why go to school? Well as time went on, my bills and my responsibilities became more. So I decided to go back for my degree.

My first and most important goal as a student is to obtain my bachelors degree. I have a very busy life, which includes a full time day job in the finance department, an evening/weekend job waitressing, taking care of my father, and a social life. I have thought of giving up so many times due to lack of time, but I forced myself to look into the future to see the worthwhile outcome.
