The September 11th terroist attacks on America no doubt ceased a huge uproar in our homes and societys but most evidently the media. September 11th could be very well described as the day of the fall, the whole world was influenced by an act that was so very blunt and inhumane.
             The subject became the focus of every newspaper, for days, weeks and months after the attacks. One could not hold a newspaper or magazine to their eyes and not feel chill and awfully sick at the sight of what can only be desribed as what a jealous and mindless society had performed. And so the argument uproared, Americas decision to retaliate soon became an issue that could not be solved by any single being, it was either yes or no, the choice seemed easy but the facts were hard to find.
             "Strike at Taliban" is an article published by the Herald Sun on Thursday 13th of September and written by John Masanauskas. At this point in time America had not yet made their decision for or against retaliation, although the day for war was nearing. The first paragraph proves the language the author has used, the first sentance is quite long and structure is fairly formal, the basis of this formality being used is based on the importance of the subject being researched. The authors purpose of this article is evidently to provide facts as well as persude the reader to believe the opinion they hold is correct. The article produces some fine statemets that present his stand on war for America. In the purpose to persuade the writter has used a number of techniques that contribute to his way of writting.
