I, Old Major, am the great white boar on Manor Farm. In my twelve years on the farm, I've served my oppressive master to the best of my ability. The other animals see me as a wise, leader type because my stout figure, and long tusks. Some say I'm majestic looking, but I feel my looks don't matter while the two-legged overlords are enslaving my comrades.
As the patriarch on Manor Farm, the animals look to me for guidance. We as the beasts of animal farm are sick and tired of the cruel treatment of our comrades. I decided that it was time for rebellion. So I composed the fight song for the beasts; "The Beasts Of England". I may have started the reformist movement on the farm, but I know every other animal on Manor Farm has wanted a change. A shift of power, to the trotters of the animals.
My role couldn't be fully achieved due to my ill-timed death, but I could set the movement in motion. When I stood before the animals that night in the farm, I shared my innermost desire with them. I had to give them a reason to rise up. As the leader, if I could show them my reason to rebel, I felt they might join my cause. Every cause needs a motto or banner to rally under. So I composed "Beasts Of England" as a fight song for my oppressed comrades. With this tune, I had the whole of the farm (for the exception of the humans) singing our song of freedom.
