"Let it pour"Chris says. What is falling on the Faith Community hospital is a lot more than rain. It's more like hail. With the managements lack of enforcement of policies and procedures, and the staff running rampant and doing as they please. The course of this paper will define the problem, or that is problems that the Faith Community Hospital has. Then analyze each of the proposed problems. Finally offering a few solutions that may help the Faith Community Hospital become the hospital the stake holders want.
             After closely scrutinizing each paragraph in the case study, there have been several problems that have become obvious. 1) Managements inability to enforce hospital policies and procedures. 2) Even though the hospital is a not-for-profit organization, health care costs are increasing which makes it more difficult for the hospital to pay its bills. The problem is escalated by the reduction in the number of patients. If the Faith Community Hospital is to continue its existence in the business, the hospital has to evaluate their financial and economic status, as well as their moral standard. Overall, the entire hospital's performance needs to be evaluated.
             Problem #1 The hospitals mission statement is "With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual heritage and values, our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with the partners who share the same vision and values(Smith, )." This implies "an implicit preference for one value over another (Browne, Keeley, McCall, Jr. &, Kaplan, 2003, 68). However, the inability of the hospital administration to manage and enforce hospital policies and procedures pooled with the failure of the medical staff to follow hospital policies and procedure has created a conflict in standards.
