This was a really good book to read. It was about a young woman who was never really that close to her mother until her mom was diagnosed with cancer and she had to stay home to take care of her for a while. They spend all there time together and find out a lot about each other that they probably would have never known about. The girl is blamed for killing her mother, her mom had an autopsy and it said she had a morphine overdose and everyone thought the daughter did it to help put her out of her misory, but she didn't. You find out at the end that the mother had done it herself.
The movie was also very good. I really enjoyed watching it a lot. It was a lot like the book though. It had pretty much the same main ideas and all. And as I left out before that was in both the book and the movie the daughter had always thought that the father/husband had given the overdose to the mom and the father always thought it was the daughter that did it, but at the end they are at the grave and they were talking about it and they figured out that the mother had done it to herself because she didn't believe that anyone should have to live like that.
Although the book and movie were very similar they also had a few differences. The movie starts out as a flashback as when Ellie the daughter was in the car with her mom dad and brother and it doesn't start that way in the book. And in the book Ellie had a brother Jeffery and a brother Brian, but in the movie she only had one brother, Brian. Another difference is that in the book Ellie's boyfriends name is Jonathon and in the movie his name is Jordan. In the movie Ellie's father, George, asks her to write the introduction to his novel that he has decided to write and he didn't write a novel in the book. Another one is that on Thanksgiving after Jordan/Jonathon and Ellie got in a fight she wanted to walk home from the bar in the book, but in
