             "All men are born equal." Some may agree with this statement and others may disagree. Regardless, equality is a major problem in the United States. The United States has always boosted on its economy as it has one of the highest GPD in the world. At the same time, the U.S. has one of the largest gaps between the rich and the poor. Do the poor really choose to be poor? Obviously this can not be the case as the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Without a doubt, government intervention is a necessity if this gap is to ever be filled.
             People constantly complain that no more government intervention is needed and that government runs our lives a great deal as it is. I disagree with this statement because imagine what life would be like without the rules and regulations set by our government. Whether we want to believe it or not government is a part of everything in our daily lives from work, to school, to the markets one runs to or even the gas stations we stop at. Where we need our government the most it's not there as in the gap between the rich and the poor. People argue that if the government intervenes in this nation wide crisis that the incentive to work will decrease. If that was the case people would have stopped working a long time ago. As it is, there are many government programs out there made to help those in need. They are not the greatest, but they are there to help those unfortunate individuals that come across hard times.
             What our government needs to do is better educate the lower class. If we were to look at most of the CEO's of major companies you will see that they come from the higher social class of society where education is not taken lightly. This does not mean that education is taken lightly in the middle and lower classes of society but there is a big difference in the education given at these schools.
