The understanding that all men were more knowledgeable and more powerful than women in the ancient Roman times was disproved by one single woman. Medea clearly showed us that she could outsmart almost any man that she wanted. Her sense of manipulative ness was so powerful that she even outsmarted a King. Kings' are supposedly known as the smartest and most powerful beings on the planet. This just shows how naive the men were in those times. They looked past women and treated them lower than they should have. Medea used her brain and her own tactics to fool both Jason and Kreon, and they didn't even know what was hitting them. She is one of the cleverest characters that I've ever seen. She can work any situation she wanted to her advantage by simply using her own brain.
             Since Medea is a woman, it is very surprising that all of the characters believe her and don't even bother to think twice about what she is saying. Normally if a "stereotypical" woman of that time had something to say to a noble man or especially a King, they wouldn't be listened to. This is why Medea is tricky. She had the power to get people to listen to her, even when being a "worthless" woman. Manipulative ness is Medea's most obvious trait. Although before she can do anything or "play any of her games" she needs to plan everything out carefully.
             Medea's main goal is to get revenge on Jason who cheated on her, breaking an oath. Medea has to use all her knowledge to plan the perfect revenge and use her manipulative ness to make it work and to get away with it. Medea had planned to kill the children to get the ultimate payback on Jason. This wouldn't be an easy task to do though. There are a bunch of things that Medea needs get in order for this whole ordeal to become successful and for her to feel she had gotten revenge. First she needs sympathy. Not only from Jason an...
