Henceforth, I'll give a little of the history of how reality TV progressed in America. I'd like to start with one of the biggest pieces of shit in TV history, a show erroneously titled America's Funniest Home Videos. These were not America's funniest home videos. The premise for the show was simple: idiot Americans who had just purchased the newly invented home camcorder would compete for a money prize by doing one of two things, 1) either send in a tape of their kid or grandma relentlessly trying to blow out birthday candles 2) or send in a tape of anyone getting hit in balls by any object. The show was hosted by legendary comic genius, Bob Saget, also known as Danny Tanner of Full House. Soon after the immense success of Danny Tanner's success, Uncle Joey hosted the even shittier spin-off, America's Funniest People, which I think should have been called America's Hugest Losers. The show consisted of people sending in tapes of themselves doing what they thought were funny things, like making "funny" faces, or pulling crazy stunts, like burping the alphabet, things demonstrating the sophisticated level of humor we as Americans possess.
