             Anti-aircraft weapons involves any weapons used to fight aircraft from the ground. Germany was one of the first nations to develop new anti-aircraft weapons in World War II, including new rapid-fire guns for low and medium altitudes. Advancements in this technology became difficult because planes were continually becoming faster. Features for high-altitude weapons improved as the guns became more accurate and detailed. For example, more bullets could fit into a carriage, or ammunition could be loaded faster.

             Principally, the weaponry can be divided in 9 types:
             1. Machine guns: These weapons were first used in the American Civil War to devastating effect. But with World War One their effectiveness reached frightening new levels. Firing up to 600 bullets a minute (the equivalent of 250 men with rifles), Machine Guns were then deemed to be 'weapons of mass destruction'.
             2. Artillery: These were the new and upgraded versions of cannons. Never in the history of man, where there so many cannons used in one war alone.
